An undulating stone façade, sculptural rooftop chimneys, and an inventive apartment building. A lovely choice for guests who enjoy architecture and seeing how a building works from the inside.

Beautiful buildings and collections, with indoor options for a quieter afternoon.
Sant Pere · Old Town
An ornate concert hall filled with stained glass, mosaics, and floral details. Visit on a guided or self-guided tour, or look for a concert that fits around the wedding events.
Tours and concerts are separate bookings; check the programme for your dates.
El Born
Explore Picasso's connection to Barcelona and the development of his work in a museum set among the historic buildings of Carrer de Montcada. Combine it with lunch or a walk through El Born.
Book ahead. The museum currently lists 1 May and Mondays as closure days, so plan this for another day.
Montjuïc
Miró's colourful world of painting and sculpture in a light-filled museum on Montjuïc. A good option for modern-art lovers, with the hill's gardens and paths nearby.
Pair it with time outdoors on Montjuïc and check the museum's calendar before setting off.
Palau Nacional · Montjuïc
The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya brings together centuries of Catalan art in the grand Palau Nacional. Leave time to enjoy the city views from the area around the museum.
The museum currently lists 1 May as an annual closure day. Check opening days before planning a visit.
Food, neighbourhoods & fresh air
For a slower start, a long lunch, or an afternoon without too much of a plan.
Old Town
Wander the lanes and squares around Barcelona Cathedral, then continue into El Born for small shops, café stops, and tapas. Passeig del Born is an easy place to pause for a drink or a meal.
The streets are free to explore; individual monuments may require tickets. Comfortable shoes help on the uneven paving.
La Rambla
A lively food market for browsing produce, seafood, cured meats, and small bites. Make it a breakfast or lunch stop alongside an Old Town walk.
Go earlier in the day for a market visit, and check holiday opening arrangements before going on 1 May.
Waterfront
Walk the promenade, stop for coffee by the beach, or make time for a seafood lunch. An easy way to enjoy the Mediterranean without committing to a full sightseeing day.
The promenade and beach are free to explore. Bring a light layer for the sea breeze.
Montjuïc
Head up the hill for green spaces and panoramic views, or ride the Montjuïc cable car towards the castle. Combine it with one of the nearby museums if you have a little longer.
